Subtropical is an imaginary logbook, a collection of stones, notes and engravings in carbon paper. It shows an Expeditionary way of thinking, pages and imaginary files, with their stamps and identification tags.
In the gallery, the stones brought from Pico do Jaragua are cut by a line of red laser light, a simulacrum of the Tropic of Capricorn. This straight luminous immaterial virtuality resembles the tropics - lines invented by geographers to measure, share and guide our relationship with the world.
By marking the points at which collects rocks on the surface of the planet, the artist is always creating ways to measure the world, to better understand it. This understanding is not fixed: his paths go on marking the surface of the territories. The lines of the places he went, as ethereal as the red light of Subtropical are his map and his compass. Is a drawing in the world, as the Tropic of Capricorn.

Subtropical é um diário de bordo inventado, um recolhido de pedras, anotações e gravuras em carbono. Ela mostra um viés expedicionário e páginas de arquivos imaginários, com seus carimbos e etiquetas de identificação.
Na galeria, as pedras trazidas do Pico do Jaraguá são cortadas a laser por uma linha de luz vermelha, simulacro do Trópico de Capricórnio. Esta reta luminosa, imaterial, lembra a virtualidade dos trópicos - linhas inventadas pelos geógrafos para medir, dividir e orientar nossa relação com o mundo.
Ao marcar os pontos em que recolhe pedras na superfície do planeta, o artista está sempre criando formas de medir o mundo, para melhor compreendê-lo. Este entendimento é caminhante: seus percursos vão marcando a superfície dos territórios.
